I agree totally that schools should make pan mandatory as part of the curriculum. How else will we be able to hold on to our invention and culture when all the world want to take a piece; soon we'll only have sticks and no pan. Come on T&T do something!!

Love your new website and yes evrywhere but T&T pushes music in the schools inclunding pan in some schools in Noth America. It's time we start teaching our kids pan in schools before we loose it altogether

Yes I agree 100% it's time we teach our kids pan in schools. Some schools in North America make "pan" part of their music curriculum. why can't we??

Hey Pro its Christal from New York,
I used to play with Sonatas, I now you would never forget me. I hope
you are well and Blessed and the family is well. I totally agree with your comment. I should not only be in Trini's school curriculum but all school curriculum every where, it is an
instrument like any other as well as it is like no other that creates harmony.

Your site jus came up during a search. I am a ex-pat living in England and it's great to see we are moving ahead electronically. This is a beautiful, well laid out website, with a lot of thought built-in. Great job and I hope that the world is listening especially T&T so that we do not loose our music- OUR PAN -. Come on Mr. Education Minister make it mandatory for steel-pan be part of the learning curriculum.

I refer to the negative comments recently posted on the "When Steel Talks" website. I was actually THERE and I must say that someone is trying to damage Ken's reputation. People, do not believe every rumour you hear. There is always two sides to a story. Lets stop being small minded and look at the brighter picture. I believe that Ken Philmore is a true ambassador of Pan and should be commended for his good music. Everyone who has had the privilege of meeting him would know that he is a true gentleman.

ken this web site is remarkable as for the pan in school in my view this is mandatory in schools and it would also help the youths to keep focus on something positive that can help them in the future, coming from under your wind i have a business doing steel drum entertainment (symplsher entertainment)and its doing well and is because of you guys like myself along with anicl, darren, sleepy, brent, derrick, wade, dixi ann roger, darril, wentworth just to name a few coming out from P'ville senior comp. have seen the world and have and build a career out of it but the key as u always say is to have love discipline, smell clean and look good! must say thanks to you again for your continued support in my development as a performer! thank you. p.s when are you opening your school? you got to go the distance don't stop now. looking forward for that, take care

Why Ken Philmore thinks pan in the class room is good ? With all those nice new drums made by Doyle the 4pans and the contra basses, youth a,d energy was harmony makers tied with Despers- USA, Perhaps it's Mike and Philmores unwillingness to support working panist. I love you to Ken,

Ken, your music is such an inspiration, especially to people who are "new" to the steelpan and the youths. It is so modern. You continue to lead the way for the younger ones with your choice of music. You dare to go where nobody else does.
